George Runner
Sacramento — During the Board of Equalization’s February meeting in Sacramento, George Runner was selected as Chairman by his fellow Board Members.
“It’s an honor to be trusted with this privilege by my colleagues,” said Board of Equalization Chairman George Runner. “As always, my focus will remain on doing everything I can to make life easier for California taxpayers, and I look forward to working with the Board in my new role.”
Prior to serving as Chairman, Runner served as Vice Chair twice and led the Board’s customer service and administrative efficiency committee, where he focused on promoting taxpayer-friendly changes to the agency, as well as streamlining the Board’s operations.
As Board of Equalization Chairman, Runner serves as a member of the Franchise Tax Board along with State Controller Betty Yee and Department of Finance Director Michael Cohen.
The next BOE meeting will be held in Sacramento on March 27.
