[KHTS] – There were “Fashions, Follies & Fun” on Sunday for a sold out crowd of more than 300 at the fourth annual Soroptimist International of Greater Santa Clarita Valley fashion show.

SIFashionKelsy Among the models in the show was Cheri Fleming, President of Soroptimist International of the Americas. Fleming attended the show with her daughter -in-law Jennifer Fleming and granddaughter Farah, 5 1/2.

“I am pleased to be part of this great day,” said Cheri Fleming. “We have an amazing community and a great cause.”

Fleming leads 34,000 women in 1,400 clubs in 19 countries as President.

It was a mother-daughter-granddaughter kind of day at the Hyatt Regency Valencia as guests mingled before the show at the boutique that featured clothes, jewelry and other items.

Soroptimist International Camino Real Region Governor-elect Dora Zavala attended the event with her daughter Nicole Zavala and granddaughter Makayla.

“I am so excited that today’s event is sold out,” said Dora Zavala. “It’s a great opportunity to give back to the community.”

Zavala will be installed as the region’s Governor at the Spring Conference to be held at the Hyatt Valencia April 25-27.

President of Soroptimist International of Greater SCV Vanessa Wilk, attended the fashion show with her daughter Alison Hicks.

SIFashionmales“Our fashion show was sold out months ago, which is wonderful,” said Wilk. “We have so much support from the community. It’s going to be a great afternoon. Proceeds from today’s event will go to support our programs that help women and girls, locally and globally.”

David’s Custom Clothiers, Lorna Jane, Luscious Soul, Marshalls, Mirror Mirror, One Savvy Girl, Propinquities, Roger Dunn Gold Shop and The Closet on Main. “Wow! This is exciting,” said Dominquez. “I am proud I was able to help for a great cause. This is an amazing organization that is doing great things for women and girls.”

Male model, Los Angeles Fire Department Fire Fighter Scott LaRue, was injured on the job and unable to participate in the show.

Male model Dante Acosta said he had “a lot of fun” participating in the event.

“Rehearsals went great, this is a fantastic event,” said Acosta. “All the male models are happy to be supporting a great cause, Soroptimist.”

As the fashion show opened Sandi Naba, fashion show chairwoman, briefly took the podium and introduced the community leaders in the audience and thanked sponsors and guests.

“Are you ready for some fashion, follies and fun?” said Naba. “Thank you for attending our fashion show.”

Ed Masterson served as emcee of the event.

In addition to the fashion show and boutique the event featured a special raffle of tickets to view a L.A. Kings game in a suite. The prize, valued at $1,000, included four premium bottles of wine. Sheryl and John Geraci donned their L.A. Kings jerseys to help sell the $20 tickets. “We love the Kings,” said Cheryl. “We decided we’d help sell the tickets and wear our jerseys.”

SIFashionTeagleGuests who purchased tickets for the regular raffle were able to choose which of the five raffle baskets they wished to try to win by placing a ticket in the appropriate container. Girls from the Val Verde Community Center who attended the fashion show courtesy of Soroptimist International of Greater SCV pulled the winning tickets and helped present the baskets to the winners.
