After seven years as guests of North Oaks Church of Christ, Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley has found a new home for its Resource Center.
Family Promise of SCV is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving homeless families in the SCV.
The Resource Center is the office and the place where families come for case management, computer access for job search and homework, storage for supplies of all kinds ranging from diapers to deodorant and access to showers and laundry facilities. After hearing of Family Promise’s need, the local nonprofit received an invitation from the folks at Heart of the Canyons Church to set up its Center in a portable building on their Newhall campus.
Portable showers are being provided on-site six days a week by by Real Life Church and friends at Valencia United Methodist Church are making their shower available once a week.
Family Promise would like to thank the truly generous hosts at North Oaks and Heart of the Canyons.
Family Promise has a goal to find a piece of land in Santa Clarita where it can build a permanent facility to provide services for its local homeless children and their families.
The group is working closely with local officials and developers to make this dream a reality. In the meantime, Family Promise continues to partner with the community and many supporters to make a difference for homeless families 365-days a year.
