The William S. Hart Union High School District’s seven comprehensive high schools have been named to the 2025 Advanced Placement School Honor Roll.
This prestigious recognition by the College Board highlights the District’s commitment to expanding access to college-level coursework while maintaining high levels of student achievement.
The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening participation. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit and maximizing college readiness.
Honors awarded to each high school are as follows:
Bronze Award: Canyon High School and Golden Valley High Schools were recognized for a strong college-going culture, with 40% or more of students taking at least one AP Exam and 25% of students scoring a 3 or higher.
Silver Award: Castaic high School, Hart High School, Saugus High School and Valencia High Schoo achieved a milestone of 50% or more of students participating in AP Exams, with at least 30% of students scoring a 3 or higher.
Gold Award: West Ranch High School was recognized for its exceptional performance, with 65% or more of students taking at least one AP Exam and 35% of students scoring a 3 or higher.
During the 2024-25 school year Hart District students took 9,136 AP exams with an impressive 81% pass rate.
“We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for this district-wide achievement,” said Vince Ferry, Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services. “Having all seven schools recognized on the AP Honor Roll is a testament to our commitment to academic rigor and our mission to ensure every student is prepared for success in post-secondary education.”
