On Saturday, Oct. 18, the West Ranch High School Wildcat Marching Band, and Band Boosters, present the 6th Annual Wildcat Classic. The Wildcat Classic is a Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) Marching Band Competition.
Seventeen high school bands are slated to perform, including most of the local Wm. S. Hart District championship Marching Bands. This is a great opportunity to see so many bands perform in one venue. In addition to Hart District schools, Lancaster, Palmdale, John F. Kennedy, Marshall,, Highland, Los Pueblos, Independence, Glendora, Liberty, Buena, Lompoc, and Rio Mesa high schools will also be participating.
Marching Bands will be competing by division, followed by a showcase performance of the outstanding, West Ranch High School Wildcat Marching Band & Colorguard, 3 time SCSBOA State Champions. The evening will culminate in an awards ceremony with trophies presented in each division, as decided by SCSBOA judges. Division classification is based on the total number of musicians in the band, including brass, woodwinds and percussion.
The WRHS Band will again be hosting the Wildcat Classic at the Valencia High School stadium, 27801 N. Dickason Drive, in Valencia. Tickets are $10.00 each. Food Concessions will be available onsite, provided by the West Ranch Band Boosters as well as Smooth Operator and Kettle Corn by Red Apron. New this year, Band Geek Chic will be there to meet your band geek apparel needs.
The West Ranch Wildcat Band invites everyone to come and support their favorite area high school bands. Bring your friends and family to enjoy this entertaining marching band field show.
