A local homebuilder came through with a significant donation to help the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry continue its work of feeding those in need, especially during the holiday season.
Ralph Pistone, Vice President of Construction Services for Pardee Homes, presented a $500 check to SCV Food Pantry Executive Director Belinda Crawford Tuesday morning to help with the basics.
“We purchase core items, the basic proteins, vegetables, fruits to put in our bags with any donations from individuals,” Crawford said. “Right now, with the economy the way it is, we’re running low, running out of core items on a regular basis. This is unbelievable, we are thrilled that Pardee thinks enough of the Food Pantry and that they are so community involved that they realize that we are all partnering together and we are all neighbors helping neighbors.”
“Pardee Homes feels it’s a part of this community, and we want to give something back to the community. Not only do we build homes, but we are very interested in what goes on in the Santa Clarita Valley,” said Pistone. “Not only are we involved with the Food Pantry but are very involved with home aid projects in the Santa Clarita Valley.”
He added that today’s donation continues the homebuilder’s nearly 30 years of local community support.
“Building communities is more than just creating homes that people want to buy,” he added.

By using coupons and samples from sites like “Get Official Samples” I started noticing my bill go down to around $70 with a 30 to 40 percent savings and I had more food than ever before
