[KHTS] A Santa Clarita Valley woman is due in court on trafficking charges in court next month, when she’ll face four counts related to her August arrest.
The 49-year-old Canyon Country woman was arrested in Greensboro, N.C. on Aug. 14, after she was targeted in an undercover operation by Greensboro Police Department detectives.
“We were doing a vice narcotics operation and conducted a traffic stop on a rented vehicle she was in,” said Susan C. Danielsen, public relations officer for the Greensboro Police Department. “As a result of that traffic stop, she was arrested because there was a trafficking amount of opiates that we seized.”
The suspect, whose occupation is listed as a producer, was arrested on the westbound side of Interstate 40, near McConnell Road, in Guilford County.
She was booked on a charge of conspiracy to sell narcotics, two counts of trafficking opiates (more than 4 grams but less than 14 grams) and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance.
If convicted, she faces a minimum sentence of 70 months in prison and a $50,000 fine for the possession charge, according to North Carolina state law.
She’s due back in court Nov. 19 to answer to the charges. She is being held at Greensboro Central Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
