Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station arrested seven people on drug, stolen property, identity theft and other charges in three separate incidents in Castaic, Valencia and Canyon Country during the Thanksgiving weekend.
Here’s a recap from the station’s social media:
Thursday
“Deputies arrested three Bakersfield men and detained a teen for burglarizing vehicles on Oak Valley Road in Castaic on Thanksgiving morning.
“An observant citizen spotted the group checking car door handles and removing items in the early morning hours. The citizen contacted SCV Sheriff’s and provided suspect(s) and vehicle description.
“Deputies were able to catch up with the suspects’ vehicle on The Old Road where a traffic stop was conducted. The suspects were found to be in possession of burglary tools and multiple items of stolen property.
“All four males were charged with burglary and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.”
Friday
“SCV Sheriff’s Station deputies were patrolling in Valencia Friday night when they spotted possible suspicious activity in a parking lot on Wiley Canyon Road. A man and woman appeared to be looking into cars with a flashlight.
“Deputies pulled in to take a closer look but when the couple became aware of police presence, they took off, jaywalking into traffic, causing cars to swerve and brake hard.
“Deputies caught up with the jaywalkers and learned the two had something in common — they both had $30K warrants out for their arrest that were narcotics-related.
“Deputies arrested both of them on the warrants and the adult male additionally was charged for possession of methamphetamine. The 36-year-old man and 46-year-old woman were transported and booked at SCV Sheriff’s jail.
Saturday
“On Saturday night, deputies were conducting patrol checks in Canyon Country when they came across an illegal encampment located near Isabella Parkway/Golden Triangle Road.
“Deputies made contact with an adult male who was living at the illegal campsite and discovered that he was in possession of stolen property, including a checkbook and identification card that were in another individual’s name.
“Deputies researched and found that the items belonged to a local man who was the victim of a vehicle burglary.
“Deputies arrested the 31-year-old transient on multiple charges including fraud, possession of burglary tools, receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. They transported and booked the adult male at the SCV Sheriff’s Station jail.”
