Summer has ended and fall is here, reminding us that the holiday season is fast-approaching. This is similar to the movement of basketball training company, Ball Out; reminding us that a new culture of basketball in the Santa Clarita Valley is fast-approaching.

Summer basketball camps and clinics came and went and now it’s time to get ready for the alumni basketball tournament this weekend. The tournament will be held at Golden Valley High School this Saturday, October 22nd and Sunday, October 23rd. Six Foothill League schools as well as private schools in the area, will be represented by past players who remain loyal and passionate toward their respective alma maters. This will be a great way to bring the community together and kick start the upcoming high school basketball season.

Eight teams will compete in a tournament style pool play format with a Winners and Consolation Championship bracket. High School rules will be applied. A championship trophy will be awarded to the 2016 Champs. An MVP award will be presented and “All Tournament” selections will be made. There will also be a 3 Point Shootout on Sunday that will include a player from each team and a prize for the winner.

There will be a number of sponsors in attendance including TuMe Water, Firehouse Subs, Juice It Up and Ice Recovery & Wellness.

Media outlets such as KHTS AM 1220, The Signal and SCVTV are expected to be in attendance as well. Social media coverage will be used. Video production and photography will be headed by Five Factor Films and Lemons.

Admission is free for all high school and middle school students that present their school ID. General admission is $7.

Ball Out t-shirts will be sold at a discounted price. A portion of the proceeds will be given to the Golden Valley High School Boosters program.
