Soccer lovers of all ages are heading to the Santa Clarita Valley’s newest sports facility, the Santa Clarita Soccer Center’s all-new indoor location featuring two fields for youth and adult programs and a variety of new amenities for players and spectators alike.

“The reception we’ve been getting from soccer families has been phenomenal,” said Soccer Center owner Scott Schauer. “We’re very excited to be able to provide a state-of-the-art facility for players of all ages and abilities.”

The new Santa Clarita Soccer Center is located at 25385 Rye Canyon Road in the Valencia Industrial Center. The 25,000-square-foot location officially opened last week, after the business completed its relocation from its former outdoor location adjacent to Santa Clarita Lanes.

“The Soccer Center has been a proud member of this community for over 20 years, and we couldn’t be happier with our new location, which will help us continue providing a top-notch indoor soccer experience to Santa Clarita for many more years to come,” Schauer said.

The new Soccer Center features a full-sized “indoor soccer” field, similar in size to a hockey rink, which is where the adult leagues play their games. In addition, the center has a smaller field for youth programs as well as fast-paced 3-on-3 adult soccer.

Both fields are surrounded by safety netting and spectator-friendly safety glass, along with theater-style spectator seating — complete with cup holders. The new Soccer Center also features a snack bar, coin-operated “kiddie rides,” and player benches with lockers.

“Climate control was one of the big questions we received from people as we were getting the new location ready, and we just love the answer,” Schauer said. “The new Soccer Center is equipped not only with swamp coolers, but also a gigantic ceiling-mounted fan that will help keep everyone comfortable when the temperatures rise outside.”

Programs at the Soccer Center include adult and youth leagues and open play, as well as special and fun skills development programs for younger children: Lil’ Kickers introduces soccer to children ages 18 months to 9 years, and Lil’ Sluggers introduces children ages two to six to the game of baseball. The Soccer Center also offers birthday party packages for kids.

To introduce families to the new facility as well as the youth programs, the Soccer Center is hosting a free open house event showcasing the Lil’ Kickers and Lil’ Sluggers programs, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 23.

“The open house is a terrific opportunity for families to not only see what the Lil’ Kickers and Lil’ Sluggers programs are all about, but also to check out our incredible new facility,” said Amanda Allegra, coordinator of the Soccer Center’s Lil’ Kickers and Lil’ Sluggers programs. “So far it’s really been a hit with everyone, from the littlest of the Lil’ Kickers on up to their parents.”

The Santa Clarita Soccer Center is open daily. Additional information about the Soccer Center, its programs, leagues and schedules is available at www.scsoccercenter.com or by calling (661) 288-2600.
