The Independence Day Weekend Anti DUI crackdown is reporting DUI arrests from local routine traffic enforcement and special Avoid the 100 DUI deployments in Los Angeles County.
From 12:01 a.m. Thursday, July 4, through midnight Sunday, July 7, officers representing 100 county law enforcement agencies arrested 685 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Last year during the same time there were a total of 503 arrests for DUI in Los Angeles County.
Law enforcement officials will be conducting more Avoid Anti-DUI efforts throughout the county and region during the 18-day Summer Campaign in August ending Labor Day weekend.
Police, Sheriff and the CHP encourage all motorists to watch and report impaired drivers each and every trip around town or during summer vacations. Call 9-1-1 anytime you encounter a dangerous driver.
