College of the Canyons had three players from its 2025-26 men’s basketball team recognized as members of the All-Western State Conference, South Division team, with two earning First-Team recognition.
COC sophomore Donovan Cornelius and freshman Dwayne Boston Jr. were both named All-WSC, South Division First-Team.
Cougars’ freshman Craig Irons was an Honorable Mention selection.
Boston led Canyons in scoring at a mark of 15.4 points per game to also rank 10th in the WSC, South. He added 6.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game to his scoring totals. His rebounding mark was second on the team and he also ranked fourth on the squad with 11 blocks. Those numbers came across 28 games, with 26 starts, while leading COC in minutes at 27.8 each night out.
The Inglewood High School product shot 50 percent from the field and better than 76 percent from the foul line. Boston recorded double-digit point totals in all but three games, including a streak of 19 straight contests to close out the regular season. His season high of 23 came vs. L.A. Valley on Feb. 11. Boston also pulled down a season-best 15 rebounds in a road win at Napa Valley College on Dec. 15.
Cornelius picked up his second First-Team selection after a season in which he averaged 7.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. His assist totals ranked third on the team.
The guard out of Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies High School reached double digits in eight games, including two games in which he posted a season-high 15 points. Cornelius logged starts in 18 games while shooting 37 percent from the field with a mark of 73.1 percent from the foul line.
Irons finished the regular season averaging 8.7 points, 1.1 assists and a team-best 6.9 rebounds per game. During conference play his rebounding totals elevated to 8.4 per game. The seven-foot center totaled a team-high 21 blocks on the defensive end to also rank 10th in the WSC, South.
The Hart High School grad led the Cougars with a field goal percentage of 53.6 percent while recording 22 starts in 27 games. Irons scored a season-high 18 points in the regular season finale vs. Bakersfield, one of 14 games in which he finished in double digits. His 16 rebounds vs. West L.A. on Jan. 21 were a season best. Irons also came away with four blocks at Solano College on Dec. 13.
The Cougars finished the regular season with an overall record of 16-12 and 7-7 mark in conference play to place fifth in the Western State Conference, South Division standings. Canyons will be competing in the 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
