Retirees ages 62 and older or those looking to retire soon, are invited by the American Family Funding, a division of American Pacific Mortgage Corporation, to dine and be apart of a workshop where they can learn how a reverse mortgage can provide access to home equity without the monthly payments.
The workshops are scheduled for 6:15 p.m. on April 4 and April 6, in the private dining room at Salt Creek Grille, located at 24415 Town Center Drive, #115, in Valencia. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Spouses and guests over age 60 are encouraged to attend.
A reverse mortgage allows a homeowner to borrow against the equity they’ve established in their home. To be eligible, one must be age 62 or older and own the home free and clear, or have a remaining mortgage balance that can be paid off by the reverse mortgage.
“A reverse mortgage requires careful planning in order to meet both buyer and seller needs, but when it’s done properly it can be a great way to ease financial strain,” said Steve Schaefer, a reverse mortgage specialist with American Family Funding. “As long as someone pays their property taxes and homeowners insurance and maintains the property, they never need to make another monthly mortgage payment as long as they live in the home.”
The upcoming reverse mortgage workshops will cover the following questions:
Have you ever thought of your home as a retirement asset?
Would you like to access some of your home equity without taking on a monthly payment?
Would you like to eliminate your monthly mortgage payment and increase your monthly cash flow?
Is your income short each month? Would you like an additional stream of monthly income?
Could you use some additional cash for a home improvement?
Would you like to have a financial safety net for unforeseen expenses?
To reserve a spot at one of the workshops, visit www.affloansrsvp.com or call (800) 901-7190. The menu includes a choice of Petite Filet Mignon, Mesquite Grilled Atlantic Salmon or Chicken Roulade.
