The Charlie Fire near Castaic remains at 3,380 acres burned but is 30 percent contained, according to an update from the fire’s Incident Commander just before 7 a.m. Monday.
San Francisquito Canyon Road has reopened, but fire equipment remains in the area. Evacuations have been lifted.
Lake Hughes Road remains closed just above the main upper lake boat launch to Dry Gulch Road.
The east side of the Castaic Lake State Recreation Area is open to boating, camping and picnicking; the west side of the lake remains closed.

On Monday crews will continue to improve and reinforce containment lines and mop-up. Seven aircraft will be available to support ground crews with water and retardant drops as needed.
Temperatures Monday night will be in the high 80s and relative humidity in the 30s, with winds out of the southwest 4 to 6 mph and gusts to 15 mph in the afternoon.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department, Sheriff’s Department and the USDA Forest Service-Angeles National Forest have 624 people fighting the blaze, which broke out Saturday at about 2:42 p.m. in the Charlie Canyon area near Castaic.
To date there have been two minor firefighter injuries reported, both heat related. No damaged structures have been reported.

Anyone else notice how this fire is in the same path as the new road they want to connect Tapia Canyon Road and Tesoro for the new gated community .Sure is a lot cheaper to burn trees and brush instead of bulldozing it down. Keep an eye on this area in the next couple of years.
