J.C. Penney at the Westfield Valencia Town Center welcomed back some popular cosmetics to its retail line Friday morning.

Nearly 200 Sephora fans lined up as early as 5:30 a.m. inside the mall in hopes of winning a $100 gift card for some of their favorite beauty products at the grand opening event.

Ena Ramos (below), 88, of Miami, was the lucky winner of the grand prize giveaway and says she happened to be at the event by luck.

“I was sitting next door having coffee and this beautiful girl came by and gave me a number,” Ramos said. “I said, what’s this for? ‘Keep it’ she said and you will get a present. Now here I am with $100.”

Sephora Beauty Leader Tara Kightlinger said customers are happy to have make-up back inside the department store. “We haven’t had cosmetics in J.C. Penney for quite a while now, and they’ve been missing being able to get their cosmetics and fragrances under one roof,” she said. “Plus they can use their J.C. Penney credit cards, so we’re happy to have loyal customers back.”

The complete store within a store comes three years after a free standing Sephora store opened inside the Westfield Valencia Town Center. “We are sisters and partners and we don’t compete,” Kightlinger said.
