[KHTS] – Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a Valencia man on a robbery charge Friday morning.
The suspect was arrested after residents of a Valencia Summit neighborhood reported seeing a man running naked in the streets, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.
Deputies received a call to the 25800 block of Bellis Drive around 6:40 a.m. Friday, said Sgt. Sam Soehnel of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. He was arrested at 6:45 a.m.
He was booked on a robbery charge at 9:10 a.m., according to Sheriff’s Station records.
The man allegedly robbed the victim, who was not identified, outside a Bellis Drive home. The suspect, reportedly wearing only a towel, “took an item” from the victim, according to Sheriff’s Station records, Soehnel said. Sheriff’s Station officials declined to cite the item or value of the alleged theft.
The suspect reportedly did not live in the neighborhood, according to officials. The victim was described as a woman in her 40s or 50s.
Neighbors reported seeing about a half-dozen Sheriff’s Station patrol cars and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel in the area Friday morning at that time.
Sheriff’s Station officials said there were no serious injuries in the incident, and Fire Department personnel confirmed no one was transported to a hospital from the scene of the alleged robbery.
The suspect, who’s listed as unemployed according to the arrest log, is being held at Twin Towers Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail.
He’s due at Los Angeles County Superior Court in San Fernando on Tuesday.

Seem like excessive force. 5 or 6 patrol cars and a fire truck? Come on, one naked guy? Took what? Her morning paper? Lol
…should have also charged him with” Assault with a Friendly Weapon.”
