chp_ridealong090314_2[KHTS] – Three 19-year-olds from Burbank have been identified as the victims of a crash that also injured two at Rowher Flats when a truck went down a 200-foot embankment off of the Rush Canyon Truck Trail.

They are Jake Gnasso, April Townsend and Ian Bulbenko.

The red 2001 Chevy pickup truck was reportedly “off-roading” late Thursday night or in the early morning hours on Friday when the driver lost control and went down the steep embankment, officials said.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s, Fire and California Highway Patrol officials responded to the crash around 7 a.m. Friday.

Gnasso, Townsend and Bulbenko were declared dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue Team helped officials with the Coroner’s Office recover the bodies.

Two passengers, both 19-year-old men from Burbank, were airlifted to area hospitals, one with life-threatening injuries and another with minor injuries. They were wearing seatbelts, according to the CHP report.

Drugs and alcohol were not eliminated as a contributing factor in the crash at the time of the report.

Perry Smith contributed to this story.

My heart and Prayers go out to the Family. It is close to home as My son Graduated from Burroughs and lost his best friend, Arutin, at 19. To the friends and Family of these who went home to God too soon, The only way to get through this for us was to take it a day at a time, knowing your loved ones are at peace and want you to be happy. Everyone said to plant a tree, It wasn’t enough to me. I wanted his name to live on. One day I woke up and thought about the weeds on our corner. I carved a sign and decided to turn it into Arutin’s Garden. This was in 2011 and as long as I am on earth it will keep going.I believe this Garden saved my life.gave me a place to cry healing tears, and got me out of bed after many surgeries and I was ready to give up on life. Don’t ever give up. As we get older we see how short this life really is. We will be reunited in God’s time. Sharing in 3 prayer groups for the friends and loved ones of these young men. The prayers will keep on going until all is at peace again. God Bless <3
