The man found dead after an apparent crash in Rowher Flats last week has been identified as 61-year old Michael Skelton of Valencia.
Skelton’s death was listed as accidental due to blunt force abdominal trauma, according to Lt. David Smith of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.
An overturned 2005 Yamaha side-by-side all terrain vehicle was located with Skelton “approximately 200 yards away from the vehicle with obvious signs of him being deceased,” around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 26, according to California Highway Patrol officials.
Reports from friends of Skelton reported the car was seen parked the lot at Rowher Flats earlier in the week.
The U.S. Forest Service activated the search and rescue after the truck was seen in a day-use parking lot for a couple of days, said Shirley Miller, public information officer for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“No missing person report was filed with the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station,” said Miller.

I already said this on the last post about him being Michael Skelton
We now have the official word from L.A. County Coroners.
I thought the news said the man was young?? Did they find out if he did have his dog with him?
that’s what I thought, man in his 20’s
No, he was always thought to be an older gentleman. And no word on a dog being with him. He did reportedly have dog toys in his truck though.
Dog was never out there with him &
is safe & sound.
