Los Angeles County firefighters extinguished a vehicle fire on southbound Highway 14 near Agua Dulce early Wednesday afternoon, according to Inspector Joey Marron.
The fire was reported just after noon.
“We got reports of a vehicle on fire on the side of the road,” Marron said. “Our units responded and were able to knock it down within 10 minutes, and there was no spread to the brush.”
The fire’s cause was unknown, Marron said, adding, “It was nothing suspicious.”
CHP officers closed one lane of traffic as the firefighters put out the fire and mopped up, but the lane was reopened by 1 p.m.
“The CHP does a very good job of protecting our guys,” Marron said.
