Congratulations Athletes!
The four following outstanding athletes from California’s 25th Congressional District are currently in Rio competing in the 2016 Olympic Games.  Congratulations to Paul George from Palmdale, David Smith from Saugus, Anthony Ervin from Valencia, and Abbey Weitzeil from Saugus (who already took home a Silver Medal). Good luck, and keep making us proud!

Latino Business Alliance
Last Tuesday I had the opportunity to speak with the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber Latino Business Alliance. I updated them on some of my bills, our Congressional Small Business Conference & Expo, and what legislation we hope to see in Congress through September.

Local Support from Ventura County

We are very excited that the County of Ventura voted unanimously to support our St. Francis Dam Disaster Memorial & Monument last week! The victims of the St. Francis Dam Disaster deserve to be memorialized. I am very pleased that the Ventura County Board of Supervisors is joining me in this effort and I look forward to working with my colleagues in the U.S. Senate to ensure that the monument becomes a reality.

State of the City

It was a packed house Tuesday to hear Mayor Jim Ledford give the State of the City Address at the Antelope Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Lunch. Lots of great things happening in the Antelope Valley!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

On Friday night I went to the Hangar for a Jethawks game, where we honored aerospace legend Art Thompson for his work and for inspiring younger generations of future aerospace visionaries.

  2. Clearly Representative Steve Knight is avoiding his competitor, Bryan Caforio and in turn is doing a disservice to his constituents by backing out of debates. Instead he’s allowing the Koch brothers to buy the election for him. We will not be bought.http://bryancaforio.com/2016/08/08/santa-clarita-valley-signal-cancels-25th-congressional-debate/?utm_campaign=shareaholic&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=socialnetwork
