On August 22 the brand new facility for The Palmdale Aerospace Academy came one step closer to opening its doors. The beam signing ceremony was a huge success. Thank you to Mayor Ledford and Dr. Laura Herman for their leadership.

Delivering Packages in Simi Valley

Last Tuesday I had the opportunity to go on a ride along with a UPS driver to see how their operations work. We started at the Customer Center in Sylmar, then my co-driver, Ed, and I made stops all around Simi Valley.

Stepping Up During the Fire

On August 24 I presented the Golden Oak Ranch with a special congressional certificate in recognition of all their efforts in the Sand Fire. During the fire, they let the community use their property as a base camp for the aerial firefight and allowed usage of their water wells, among other efforts. Thank you Golden Oak Ranch for your contribution to the community!

Last Thursday I had the chance to go on “Minding Your Business,” which is produced by the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce. Host Chris Spicher and I had a great time chatting about a wide range of legislative and economic issues. You can catch the interview here.

Santa Clarita Studios

On Friday afternoon I had the opportunity to tour Santa Clarita Studios with Mike, President, and Richard, VP. We spoke about the entertainment industry, its effect on California’s economy, and how important tax credits are to keep the industry here in Southern California. I also received a special look at the sound stages hosting a buzzed about TV show, as well as some other shows and movies to look forward too.
