Curt Kravitz with Bay Equity Home Loans presents the 5th Annual “Comics For The Cause,” to benefit The Youth Project.

For one night only, comedienne Wendy Liebman, as seen on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon, David Letterman, and a semi-finalist on the ABC hit, “America’s Got Talent,”along with Brian Monarch, an up and coming comic who has performed with the best of the best, Greg Fitzsimmons, as seen on David Letterman, Conan, and Jimmy Kimmel LIVE and America’s Got Talent Semi-Finalist Season 10, Drew Lynch, will grace the stage for this comedy special (along with a pre-show VIP meet & greet event).

Comics For The Cause will be held at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons on Aug. 17, 2016. Past comics have included: Billy Gardell (Mike & Molly), Jay Leno (The Tonight Show), Howie Mandel (America’s Got Talent), and other famous comics from HBO, Showtime, Comedy Central such as Bryan Callen, Cristela Alonzo, John Heffron, Tammy Pescatelli.

Wendy Liebman, comedy legend, as seen on Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and in comedy clubs all across the country. Starring in specials for HBO, Comedy Central and Showtime and a semi-finalist on America’s Got Talent. Her latest special “Wendy Liebman: Taller on TV” premiered on Showtime and is now available on Amazon and when she is not on stage, she is producing “Locally Grown Comedy” a monthly stand-up comedy show in Studio City.

Brian Monarch has been heating up the LA comedy scene for years. He plays all of the biggest stages in Hollywood. He’s worked with such greats as Margaret Cho, Louis CK, Chris D’Elia, Bryan Callen, Iliza Shlesinger, Ahmed Ahmed, Bobby Lee, and Bret Ernst to name a few. You can catch him on any given night at your favorite comedy clubs around town. His uncensored views are always something to behold.

Greg Fitzsimmons, a regular guest on The Howard Stern Show, Chelsea Lately, The Adam Carolla Show, The Joe Rogan Experience, David Letterman, Conan, and Jimmy Kimmel LIVE. Greg also had two stand-up specials on Comedy Central and spent five years as a panelist on VH1’s Best Week Ever. Since 2006, Greg has hosted a radio show on Howard Stern’s Sirius/XM channel and his own twice-weekly podcast, Fitzdog Radio. As a writer, Greg won 4 Daytime Emmy Awards on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, served as head writer on The Chelsea Handler Show, The Man Show, and Tiny Tonight.

Drew Lynch, In 2015, Drew captured the hearts of America with his Golden Buzzer performance on Season 10 of America’s Got Talent and went onto to be the 2nd Runner Up. He now packs the room at clubs all over the country and has just taped his first comedy special.

The Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project is celebrating 16 years of successfully providing free services to teens in the Santa Clarita Valley. Since their doors opened in 2000, the Youth Project has assisted more than 34,000 local families, including 29,000 youth and 5,500 adults. In 2015/2016, with services on six high schools and seven junior high campuses, the SCV Youth Project provided more than 8,000 hours of service to the young adults in the Santa Clarita Valley with serious life challenges, including depression, suicide, grief/loss, peer pressure, bullying and drug/alcohol abuse, said Kim Goldman, executive director.

“What a fun event! What an honor to be able to host an event that helps so many kids, and that our community loves to support year after year.” Board President, Martin Rodriguez stated.

    Not to distract from the great charity this is benefiting, I just wanted to voice that I didn’t agree with Wendy Liebman being on America’s Got Talent since she had had Comedy Central specials in the past, and I met Drew Lynch, nice guy, making the best of his circumstances, but again, he was on America’s Got Talent when his brother is a successful comedian who also has specials. I just thought it was an abuse of the AGT platform.
