The City of Santa Clarita, in partnership with Los Angeles County and Los Angeles County Flood Control District, will host an open house event to inform local residents and businesses about the development of the Enhanced Watershed Management Plan.
The open house will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Jo Anne Darcy Library, located at 18601 Soledad Canyon Road.
Attendees will be informed of the concepts for the Enhanced Watershed Management Plan, which analyzes projects and programs designed to reduce pollution in the storm drain system that enters the Santa Clara River to required levels.
The open house will also highlight water quality standards imposed by the State, as well as potential locations of the projects. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required to attend.
On July 9, 2013, the Santa Clarita City Council authorized the City staff to develop an Enhanced Watershed Management Plan and Coordinated Integrated Monitoring Plan to comply with the Stormwater Permit. The action also authorized an agreement with Los Angeles County, to collaborate on plan development and share costs.
Residents can view the Enhanced Watershed Management Plan and the Coordinated Integrated Monitoring Plan documents at greensantaclarita.com.
