Community: Saugus, Zone 4 Update, Public Safety & Crime Prevention Information Snapshot: 03/25/2013 – 03/31/2013
This week we had seven reported Part-1 crimes in the Saugus area. There was a hot prowl burglary on Monday, 03/25/13, 4:46 am. The suspect entered the residence through the unlocked side garage door, shinned a flashlight in the victim’s face while she was sleeping and left the residence. The victim was not injured during this incident and nothing was stolen from the home.
Three residential burglaries occurred in various areas of Saugus. The areas affected were at the 28400 block of Nicholas Circle, 23900 block of Francisco Way and the 29200 block of Brisas Road. There was no forced entry made to the Nicholas address, however, the victim believes the suspect entered through an upstairs bedroom window. The item stolen was a gold necklace. The second incident, entry/exit was made through the front window that was left unlocked by the victim. Nothing was stolen. The third incident, entry/exit was made through the open garage roll up door. The item stolen was a bicycle left unsecured in the garage.
A grand theft occurred near the intersection of Bouquet Canyon and Centurion Way during the hours of 10:30 am – 4:45 pm. Stolen was 400-500 feet of copper wire which was located behind a chain link fence. Entry/exit was made by cutting a hole in the chain link fence.
Two petty thefts of cell phones occurred at a local church and high school. The first victim left her cell phone behind on a church pew and walked away. No suspect(s) were identified in this report. The second victim was a student who left her cell phone unattended on a school bench. A subject was arrested and cited out to her parent’s in connection with this theft.
