Bring your appetite to Old Town Newhall on Saturday for a full day of homemade chili and cowboy tunes.
The Vu Bar & Lounge in Newhall is hosting the Broken Tail Chili Cook-off Fundraiser to benefit St. Bonnie’s Sanctuary, a no-kill animal shelter in Canyon Country. St. Bonnie’s Sanctuary is operated by the Lange Foundation, which also operates another shelter in West Los Angeles. Between the two shelters, the Lange Foundation finds homes for about 60-70 animals each month, said St. Bonnie employee Lisa Lambert.
Chili Cook-off participants will begin simmering their favorite recipes at 10 a.m. on Saturday and judging is at 2 p.m.
Raffle tickets will also be on sale for a chance to win one of several items donated by Universal Studios, Canyon Theatre Guild, and The Tournament Players Club in Valencia.
