SCV Job Club. Start your day off right with our employment specialist, Jennifer Ballesteros, on Friday, July 11th from 8:30 – 10:30 am, for our monthly job club. She’ll motivate you and provide you with job search tools to help you succeed in your job search, along with some HOT JOB leads.

Transportation Planning Workshop on Tuesday, July 15th from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm. If you get nervous using public transportation, this is a great workshop for you. Mobility Management Partners visits the Santa Clarita WorkSource Center monthly and will be here to help clients better understand public transportation, answer questions, and help you feel comfortable and confident about your public transportation options in the greater Los Angeles area (including Metro, Santa Clarita Transit, and Dash).

Second Chance Workshop on Wednesday, July 16th from 2:00 – 3:30 pm. Everybody deserves a second chance and a better life with sustainable employment. Having a misdemeanor or felony on your record is a barrier to employment that can be overcome if you have the tools and information to get you past employers concerns or objections.

PMI-LA Transitions Job Club for Mid to High Level Managers have done it again. Join us on Thursday, July 17th from 6 pm to 8 pm for networking and a presentation by Sue Reynolds, owner of NewMarket Careers and the new Director of Career Development for the Wm. S. Hart School district, as she teaches you “The Why, Where and How of Networking.” Let her move you from uncomfortable with networking to a networking pro. This month she will discuss what to say when networking, how to master “banter and small talk”, and where to identify networking opportunities to save you time and money.

ONGOING RECRUITMENT

Now hiring assemblers. Adecco is returning this month every Thursday from 1:30 – 3:30 until the end of July to begin filling more than 100 long term temporary positions packaging DVDs for the Academy Awards. Positions are Monday through Friday and work is guaranteed through January. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required. You must be able to pass mandatory background and drug screening tests. Alternate positions are available until the Academy Award assembler positions begin.
