[KHTS]-Los Angeles County Fire Department and Ventura County Fire Department firefighters battled a brush fire dubbed the Sharp Fire in Piru on Monday night.
The Sharp Fire was reported near westbound Highway 126 at San Martinez Grande at approximately 7:10 p.m. a few miles north of Piru, said Ventura County Fire Department Public Information Officer Mike Lindbery.
The brush fire is 100 percent contained as of Tuesday morning, according to Ventura County Fire Department officials. The fire was initially reported as 20 acres but, as of Tuesday morning, GPS mapped the fire at 4.7 acres.
Approximately 24 firefighters will now be mopping up the brush fire, according to Ventura County Fire Department officials.
Approximately 130 firefighters from multiple agencies responded to the fire at one point and worked through the night to contain the fire, said Lindbery. Due to the location, firefighters had limited access to the fire.
They were able to hold the perimeter of the brush fire Monday night with the help of water drops from helicopters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Ventura County Fire Department.
“Copters are making good progress on the fire,” according to a tweet posted Monday evening by the Ventura County Fire Department.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported, LACoFD officials said.

Well i don’t see any smoke or fire. I did hear helicopters roughly 3 hours ago but they are gone now.

Hopefully it will be out quickly
It’s not even close to Val Verde
It was a mile west of the county line. Last report I heard from Helco maybe 8-10 acres.
“Bulldozers are looking for the fire”??? Must not be too big.
