June 26, 2015 – Hart High grad Jason Gore currently sits tied for fifth after a two under 68 at the second round of the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CT.
Gore started the day tied for second after shooting an opening round 64, two shots back of leader Bubba Watson.
After opening his day with a par, Gore went on to bogey the second and eighth holes to drop back to four under. The back nine didn’t much better as Gore three putted for bogey dropping him to three under.
“It was blowing on the front, I played bad, I just wasn’t hitting the shots I needed too,” Gore said in an interview on PGAtour.com. “I had a few chances to make pars but i missed a few ten footers, but its a marathon so you just keep battling.”
His round got immensely better after the opening 10 holes, rattling off five birdies in the final eight to get him back up near the top of the leaderboard by the days close.
“I felt like I’ve played a heck of a lot better then what I’ve scored this year.”
“It could be a big weekend, but every weekend is a big weekend. I feel something good is coming. You’ve got to just keep battling.”
Gore will likely play in the third to last pairing tomorrow afternoon.
The Travelers Championship can be seen on the Golf Channel starting at 3PM.
