The American Diabetes Association’s Los Angeles chapter has scheduled two “Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes” events for Saturday, Oct. 21 in Griffith Park in Los Angeles and Saturday, Nov. 4 at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Santa Clarita.
Today, there are nearly 30 million Americans who have diabetes. Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes is the ADA’s signature fundraising walk with 95 walks across the country.
Every dollar raised through Step Out plays an important role in supporting the Association’s mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
The Oct. 21, 2017 walk traverses through scenic Griffith Park and features a festival prior to the walk. Registration opens at 7 a.m.; the walk starts at 10 a.m.
The Nov. 4, 2017 walk passes through Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor prior to the theme parks’ gates opening, and a rare opportunity to walk with your leashed, canine friends. Registration opens at 7 a.m.; the walk starts at 8:30 a.m.
At Six Flags Magic Mountain, a light breakfast and lunch will be provided, along with a festival featuring vendors, activities, and entertainment adjacent to the park. Parking is free for walkers and volunteers arriving before 8 a.m.
Both walks are free, but walkers who raise a minimum of $100 will receive an event t-shirt and a free ticket to Six Flags Magic Mountain to be used on the same day.
