Santa Clarita High School Boys Basketball
The Trinity Knights (7-0) and Saugus Centurions (4-3) are rolling into the SFV Invitational Final Four after winning their respective groups last night.
The Knights continue to prove they belong in the conversation as the best team in Santa Clarita after they punished Newbury Park, 74-62 on Monday. TCA standout Ian Caddow led the way with 26 points and Noah Peterson added another 24.
TCA takes on Crespi tonight in the Final Four from Kennedy at 7 pm.
After opening the season with three straight losses, Saugus has found its form on a winning streak of its own. Last night’s 68-57 win over Crescenta Valley marked the fourth straight win for the Centurions, and all four have come by double digits.
The Centurions have a massive test in their Final Four matchup tonight, taking on the No. 11 Village Christian Crusaders from Kennedy at 5:30 pm.
If both TCA and Saugus take care of business tonight it will be an all-SCV Championship matchup on Wednesday.
Canyon (7-3) finished the Kennedy Region on a high note, beating host Kennedy 43-29 to finish second place in the group.
The Cowboys have a 1:30 pm matinee date with St. John Bosco, fighting for a 5th place finish.
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for the Valencia Vikings (2-7), stuck in the midst of a six-game skid but back at home tonight to face Westlake. Tip-off is at 6:30 pm.
Santa Clarita High School Girls Basketball
The West Ranch Wildcats rolled in their Conquistador Classic opening round game against Moorpark, 80-67. It was a monster game for sophomore Annie Christofferson, who scored 35 points on an efficient 11-18 shooting, upping her season average to 22.1 per game.
Christofferson and the ‘Cats take on El Camino Real in Game 2 tonight at 6 pm.
Golden Valley (2-5) dropped its opening game in the El Camino Tournament to Louisville, 67-44. The Grizzlies are back in action for game 2 of the tourney today against Arleta.

Canyon (2-1-4) is at home for a big test against Bishop Alemany, winners of three straight. Kickoff is at 5 pm.
