worksourcelogoThe Santa Clarita WorkSource Center is hosting a series of recruitment events this month to identify candidates for available positions with companies including LAPD, American Business Machines and Staffmark.  The recruitment events will be held at the Santa Clarita Worksource Center, located at the College of the Canyons University Center Suite 250 at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road.

The first recruitment opportunity begins Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. targeting individuals who are interested in a career with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).  Take the LAPD Entrance Exam to be eligible to join a world-class police force that has long set the standard of excellence for police training and performance.  Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen with a High School Diploma and at least 20 years of age, or 18 years old if applying for Reserves.

worksource_recruitingOn Thursday, January 17, 2013, American Business Machines personnel will be at the WorkSource Center from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. recruiting “Sales Warriors”to join the family owned company.  Interested applicants must have excellent customer service skills, an outgoing personality, professional appearance and a commitment to deliver complete satisfaction to valued customers.  Registration is required. Finally, on Thursday, January 24, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Staffmark will be recruiting for Pallet Jack Operators, Forklift Operators, Assorted/Packers, Blending Operators and Quality Assurance Inspectors.  Applicants must have a clean criminal background, pass a drug test and be available to work immediately.

Qualified applicants should bring a copy of their resume as well as a state issued ID such as a Driver’s License or Passport and Social Security Card.  Onsite interviews may be conducted for those applicants that best meet the qualifications of the employer.

In addition to these recruitment events, the Santa Clarita WorkSource Center is hosting a FREE Manufacturing Job Fair on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Open positions include Quality Control, Machine Operators, Sales, Welders and Customer Service Representatives.  Jobseekers are encouraged to arrive on time, dress to impress, have multiple copies of their resume available and be prepared for onsite interviews.  Registration is required.
