In a court appearance Wednesday, a Santa Clarita man entered a not guilty plea to assault charges stemming from an altercation at a tire shop in Canyon Country last week.
Luis Guillermo Sanchez, 24, was in court to answer to two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of hit and run driving resulting in an injury to another person.
The criminal complaint filed against Sanchez alleged two previous convictions, one for resisting arrest in February of last year, and a conviction in August 2016 for felon in possession of a firearm charge.
Sanchez turned himself in at Mike’s Tires in Santa Clarita, shortly after the incident last Wednesday night.
