Air quality will be unhealthy for all individuals in the Santa Clarita Valley, the East San Gabriel Valley and the San Fernando Valley, and for sensitive individuals in the San Gabriel Mountains, South San Gabriel Valley and West San Gabriel Valley on Saturday, July 8, according an alert from the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
A high heat alert has also been issued for Saturday by Los Angeles County Interim Health Officer Jeffrey Gunzenhauser, MD, MPH. He advises people living or working in the SCV with heart disease, asthma or other respiratory diseases to minimize outdoor activities.
Schools with children who have sensitive conditions, including heart disease, asthma, and other chronic respiratory diseases, should not allow people to participate in outdoor physical activity; people should stay indoors as much as possible.
