California real estate expert and veterans advocate Fred Arnold has signed on to moderate the first-ever Santa Clarita Valley Young Republicans City Council Candidate Forum on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Santa Clarita Republican Headquarters, 26523 Carl Boyer Drive. The forum is scheduled to run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature all five Republican-registered City Council candidates: Incumbents Laurie Ender and Bob Kellar, and challengers Ed Colley, TimBen Boydston and Jon Hatami.
Opening the local election season, the forum will be the first of only a few opportunities for the public to hear from all City Council candidates prior to the April election, and it promises to be a candid setting with each candidate responding directly to both prepared and impromptu questions from the audience.
Fred Arnold served as President of the California Association of Mortgage Brokers from 2008-2009 and is currently the President of American Family Funding, an SCV brokerage firm he founded in 1994. Many may know Fred as the voice of “The Santa Clarita Business Hour,” airing Mondays on AM-1220 KHTS, and “Out of the Rough” on SCVTV.
The SCV Young Republicans formed in 2009. It is a diverse group of Young Republicans from the Santa Clarita Valley area who come together to take political action. The organization’s mission is to empower, educate and engage youth in the Republican Party principles of limited government, free markets, lower taxes, and a strong national defense. Register young Republicans to vote and elect Republicans to local, state and national office.
