Sen. Sharon Runner
Sen. Sharon Runner slipped and broke her elbow and fractured her tailbone last week during a “friendly sports competition with family,” her office announced Friday.
She is scheduled for surgery Monday to repair her elbow. The fractured tailbone will take a few weeks to heal and will reduce her mobility, a spokeswoman said.
“I want to thank all those who have already sent their kind wishes and thoughts,” said Runner, R-Lancaster. “While this will change my office schedule, I will continue to work from home to serve my constituents.”
Her staff said she will be available by phone and e-mail during her recovery. Runner serves the 17th Senate District, which includes most of the Santa Clarita Valley.
