Children from kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to an exclusive storytelling event with multicultural performer Michael McCarty at the Valencia Library on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 4:00 p.m.
No RSVP is necessary for this special storytelling event. Known for his engaging style, McCarty shares African-American stories, International Folktales, and historical and scientific accounts with children, which are drawn from his personal experiences as a world traveler.
McCarty’s storytelling style is best described as energetic and engaging, as he often seeks audience participation to illustrate his tales and sagas.
“The Santa Clarita Public Library provides engaging and unique programming, like this storytelling event, to promote literacy and early childhood education.
McCarty is uniquely talented in sharing stories of international cultures and lifestyles with children, providing an untraditional and fun way of fulfilling the Library’s goal of fostering a life-long love of learning,” says Mayor Laurie Ender.
