Yale Yurman

Santa Clarita Detective Bureau investigated a report of a male following a young girl and videotaping her while she was walking around inside Target on Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia.

The suspect is identified as Yale Yerman of Valencia. He turns 70 tomorrow.

Through proactive work by Target’s loss prevention, detectives were able to identify the suspect as Yale Yurman. Suspect Yurman is a registered sex offender.

On Wednesday, detectives served a search warrant in the 23700 block of Hickory Court, Valencia. Evidence was recovered which showed the suspect has been following young girls and videotaping them on several occasions. Detectives were able to identify four locations where the suspect would follow the girls. Three of the locations were in the Santa Clarita Valley. These locations were identified as Target, Walmart, and the Real Life Church in Valencia. Another location was the Santa Monica pier.

The suspect was arrested and is being held at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station with bail set at $150,000. He is expected to be in court on 06-21-13.

The law is not intended to punish the registrant and specifically prohibits using the information to harass or commit any crime against a registrant (Pen. Code § 290.46.).
