Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies quickly resolved an incident Friday at Valencia High School, involving a girl who had previously been reported missing.
The incident was handled between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Friday.
“When the (school) counselor and the deputy contacted her (on school grounds), she resisted,” said Lt. Mark Hershey. “She had to be taken to the ground… She wasn’t happy about that.”
The girl started screaming as she was being held by the deputy and school counselor, and the deputy called for backup, Hershey said.
No further details are available at this time. The girl’s name was not released because she is a minor.

This is a travesty to her civil rights and I hope someone will answer for injuring and humiliating this girl on her first day of school.
