The city of Santa Clarita has long prided itself on its business-friendly practices for companies of all sizes. Due to this, the City is emerging as a new destination for technology-focused companies to call home. Celitech, a current tenant in the Santa Clarita Business Incubator, is making a name for itself internationally.
On April 25, 2018, Ahmad Fares, Celitech founder and CEO, was featured as a guest panelist at the MVNO World Congress in Madrid, Spain.
Short for Mobile Virtual Network Operator, MVNOs are wireless communication service providers that offer mobile phone services to customers by leveraging existing network infrastructure. MVNO World Congress is a global meeting where telecom innovators and mobile connectivity industry disruptors from around the world discuss and share how the telecom market is shifting and what technologies are emerging. Ahmad Fares, Celitech’s founder and CEO, was selected to participate in a panel discussion to share his perspective on the needs of consumers in the era of digitalization.
This past February, Celitech was one of the 134 companies prestigiously selected, from thousands of candidates spanning 80 countries and 200 cities, to participate in the Startup Exhibition portion of Google Startup Grind’s Global Conference. As part of the exhibition, Celitech gained visibility among investors, industry leaders and potential customers.
Celitech is based in the City’s Business Incubator and aims to improve the way mobile phones connect to cellular networks, by developing the world’s first digital MVNO. Celitech’s service will enable international travelers to access local mobile data connectivity (4G) through the ease of a mobile phone application.
The Santa Clarita Business Incubator, created in partnership with the city of Santa Clarita, College of the Canyons and the Small Business Development Center, works with creative and technology-focused entrepreneurs to stimulate economic growth through entrepreneurship and enterprise development. The program provides participating businesses with customized support, trainings, mentoring and networking opportunities, low cost office space, meeting rooms and more.
