Canyon Country East, Zone 8

Last week, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Canyon Country East:

(1) Aggravated Assault, (6) Residential Burglaries, (14) Vehicle Burglaries, (1) Grand Theft, (1) Petty Theft, (1) Arson and (1) GTA:

An aggravated assault occurred near Palamino Pl/Sand Cyn Rd. The suspect was upset with his step daughter and wife so he pointed a loaded shotgun at the step daughters head. The shotgun was wrestled away from the suspect by the victim’s mother. The suspect was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested by Santa Clarita deputies. The loaded shotgun was recovered and booked into evidence.

An arson occurred near the 14000 block of Soledad Cyn Rd. A semi-truck had its fuel tank slashed open and set on fire. The truck was a total loss and Arson investigators are handling the investigation.

Several vehicle burglaries occurred in the Jakes Way area. The suspect(s) entered multiple vehicles by breaking the front passenger windows and entering the vehicles. The vehicles were ransacked and electronics were taken. Residential burglaries also occurred in the same area. The suspects entered into the victim’s garages and stole items from the vehicles parked inside. Please be vigilant when parking your vehicle. Do not leave valuable items in plain view or in your vehicle. This makes your vehicle a prime target for thieves.

A grand theft auto (GTA) was reported at the “Vons” parking lot on Soledad Cyn Rd. The victim met the suspect from an online car sales add. The victim exited his vehicle so the suspect could test drive the car. When the suspect got into the driver’s seat he drove way without the victim in the vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered by CHP in Ventura.
