Castaic and Val Verde, Zone 2

The following crimes were reported in Zone 2, Castaic/Val Verde.
A robbery was reported from the 31000 block of Castaic Road. Two male Hispanics demanded the cash from the register while one of the suspects simulated pointing a handgun at the clerk through his jacket pocket. The suspects got $270 is U.S. currency, an Arizona Ice tea and a Kit-Kat candy bar. Both suspects got into a tan late model Honda Accord and drove off.
A burglary was reported from the 28000 block of Harrison parkway. The business reported an exterior storage container broken into. The suspects took an ice cooler, several propane tanks and a canopy. The items were estimated at $200.
A petty theft was reported from the 27000 block of Buckskin Drive. The homeowner reported his “Holmes” outdoor speaker and Apple I-pod taken from the patio of his backyard. The items were estimated $690.
Please remember to close and lock your doors, and never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle. Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity.
