Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
A grand theft from a vehicle occurred near the 27500 block of Safron Lane. The victim left their vehicle unlocked overnight and the suspect was easily able to enter her vehicle. The suspect stole several items including headphones, snowboarding equipment and clothing. The value of the items stolen was over $1800 dollars.
There was a bicycle stolen from Bouquet Canyon Road/Soledad Canyon Road. The victim saw the suspect ride away on his bicycle towards the wash area.
A residential burglary occurred near the 22500 block of Oxford Lane. The victim believes his ex-wife entered his un secured home and stole a mini DVD from his camera.
These types of incidents are crimes of opportunity and can be prevented. If a thief can’t see anything valuable in your car they will most likely not break into your vehicle. The most commonly stolen items include purses, GPS’s, cell phones and currency. Please remove these items from your vehicle when you park them to avoid being a victim of these crimes.
