Family Promise, the leading nonprofit engaging communities to help homeless families regain their independence, has partnered with HomeAid, a national nonprofit that builds and renovates facilities and housing for those experiencing homelessness. The relationship will allow Family Promise Affiliates nationwide to be considered for HomeAid building projects in communities where the two organizations share a presence as well as create opportunities to explore expansion in new markets.
“This partnership will give our Affiliates a greater ability to connect with local builders to create housing solutions for their families,” said Claas Ehlers, President of Family Promise. “It’s an ideal fit. Our organizations have a shared mission; both utilizing existing resources and committed volunteers to address homelessness at the community level.”
Family Promise and HomeAid have already worked together on projects in markets nationwide, including Westminster, CO; Missouri City, TX; Humble, TX; Las Vegas, NV; and Orange County, CA and have just announced a new project together in Santa Clarita, CA. Current and future projects include new and renovated Day Centers, transitional and permanent housing facilities, and joint efforts to raise funds and procure materials.

“Family Promise has been one of HomeAid’s most reliable partners and we have completed several successful projects across the nation,” said HomeAid America CEO Peter Simons, “so it seemed only natural that we sign a national agreement to work together to advance each other’s good work. We see great things in the future with Family Promise as we partner together to help those suffering homelessness in this country.”
The shared mission of transforming the lives of homeless families through community outreach is what precipitated the partnership between Family Promise and HomeAid. The answer to homelessness exists in each of our communities already—our challenge is to continue developing innovative solutions like this one to address a national issue locally.
