As official Neighborhood Champions for the sixth year, the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce encourages everyone to embrace the spirit of the holiday season by supporting local small businesses on Small Business Saturday, an annual event founded by American Express, now celebrating its 15th anniversary. This year, the event takes place on Saturday, Nov. 30 (all day).

Come out and shop small to support our local businesses. Every purchase you make locally strengthens our community and keeps our valley thriving.

Shoppers, we encourage you to showcase your shopping experiences by posting photographs on social media, tagging the business and using the hashtags: #ShopSmall, #SmallBizSaturday, #ShopLocal, #IShoppedSmall, #GiftBigShopLocal.

Though the Foothill League boys soccer schedules seem to have been trying to catch up to reality this week, there are still some glitches relating to Castaic. However, these don’t seem to be confusing the results. In both girls and boys leagues, the leaders’ heals are being nipped, and the next couple weeks will reveal all that we may only speculate on now.
