The Hart District robotics team, Project 691, is hosting a First Lego League Qualifying Tournament on Sunday, November 6, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at West Ranch High School.
This is a public event and people of all ages are invited to attend.
There will be pet adoption facilities, food trucks, representatives from JPL, NASA’s SOFIA and the Newhall County Water District.
In addition, Project 691 will be demoing their robot.
The First Lego League is part of the non-profit organization called FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). Every year, FIRST hosts a robotics competition for kids of all ages.
This year’s competition is called Animal Allies and will be located at West Ranch High School in the Gym and lower 500 buildings. Thirty-five teams are registered to be at tournament.
Tentative Schedule:
– 9:00 a.m. – First competitive round begins
– 10:40 a.m. – Second competitive round begins
– 1:00 p.m. – A Third competitive round beginning
– 2:00 p.m. – A final competitive round beginning
– 3:30 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. – A closing ceremony
