Santa Clarita Valley Family YMCA is proud to present its 2nd Annual Heart of the Community Gala on Thursday, October 29 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia from 6:00-9:00 pm. The evening honors the mission of the Y with the prestigious John Fuller Award, which is given to an individual recognized as a business, non-profit and government leader in the Santa Clarita Valley community.

This year, we are honored to present the John Fuller Award to the late Dana Cop. A friend to the Santa Clarita Valley Family YMCA, Dana served on our Board of Managers and was also a leader in the community whose work created positive change for thousands of Santa Clarita residents. We are proud to pay tribute to her amazing legacy at this year’s Gala.

Proceeds from the event will provide direct financial assistance to children and families in need so they can enjoy a healthy lifestyle and affordable childcare. Financial assistance will also help underwrite youth development programs, as well as offer underprivileged children the chance to attend resident camp; an experience that impacts young lives by building self-confidence, strong positive values and leadership skills.

For more information and sponsorship opportunities, please contact Ernie Sacco at 661-678-4783, ErnieSacco@ymcaLA.org, or visit our website: www.ymcala.org/santa-clarita/pages/heart-of-the-community-gala.

Tickets are limited, so please reserve yours today.

The Santa Clarita Junior Chamber (JCI Santa Clarita) phone & computer drive for Single Mothers Outreach, in conjunction with the SCV Signal and New York Life is entering its final month. The drive was started by the Junior Chamber after discovering that moms were attending computer classes at Single Mothers Outreach but had no computer at home. Their children too are often forced to commute to do their homework as they have no easily accessible computer or access to the internet.
So far the drive has hit 50% of its target to connect 100 families with technology but would like to smash this target and help as many families as possible. The Santa Clarita Valley Signal will be donating computers to the drive while New York Life have helped sponsor the drive. Donation boxes are located across our valley including at the Signal Offices, The SCV Chamber offices and Kokolita Cupcakes. The following businesses will giveaway products or services in exchange for a donation.
Thank you for your help in advance and please contact Chris Kahan, President of JCI Santa Clarita, if you have any questions.
