The College of the Canyons football team announced that three student-athletes have signed national letters of intent today, to go along with three football players who signed letters mid-year.

Cornerback Sam Lee will transfer to Brigham Young University, joining former COC head coach Garett Tujague, offensive lineman Lloyd Tunstill signed with Texas Christian University, and defensive end Justyn Eddins will take his talent to the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Lee will join coach Tujague after recording 22 tackles, an interception return of 67 yards and a pass break up in 2012. Tunstill, who was named second-team all conference, was a sophomore leader on a young offensive line that helped the team have the second-most offensive yards in the conference. Eddins, a second-team all-conference honoree, was fifth on the team in tackles last year with 32 stops, along with three sacks.

“We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of these student-athletes, and we know that they will represent College of the Canyons well at the next level,” said College of the Canyons defensive and recruiting coordinator Dan Corbet. “We hope to see more football players sign in the coming months.”

Linebacker Jake Woolley, defensive back Jesse Simpson and safety Eric Finney have already transferred from College of the Canyons, having signed letters of intent to play for Portland State University, University of Wyoming and University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, respectively.

Woolley recorded 29 tackles and two sacks during the 2012 campaign. Sampson led the team in tackles the past two seasons, recording 102 stops, two interceptions, two pass break ups and a forced fumble in his two years with COC. Finney, who sat out last season because of injury, had 19 tackles and an interception in the 2011 season.
