Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) is performing annual maintenance work at the Honor Rancho Storage Facility in Santa Clarita.
As part of this work, which includes a valve replacement and upgrades to dehydration plants and meters, SoCalGas crews will occasionally release natural gas within its Honor Rancho Storage Facility, located near the intersection of West Rye Canyon Road and Brady Parkway.
To minimize any odor, charcoal canisters will filter the natural gas as plant systems and pipelines are vented. While natural gas odors are not expected to be noticeable, some residents may occasionally smell natural gas, and may also hear some work-related noise.
Work will began Friday, Oct. 21, and will continue through Tuesday, Nov. 8. SoCalGas may extend work hours, should any unforeseen circumstances arise.
Appropriate agencies have been notified of the planned releases of natural gas. Customers will not experience any service interruptions. No road closures are expected.
Our overarching objectives are to work safely and to provide the communities we serve with safe and reliable natural gas service.
Residents with questions may contact SoCalGas’ call center at 1-800-427-2200. The call center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Bruce Picone where were we yesterday when we smelled natural gas??
We can trust SoCal Gas, can’t we? After all, they’ve done such a fine job at Aliso Canyon.
If you agree, whatever you do, don’t start researching the details of how rates are achieved, who is involved, and how little information is actually provided to “core users” such as you and me.
Trust the CPUC; after all they are appointed to look out for us.
Not.
