This week’s Wendy’s of Santa Clarita Student Athlete of the Week is Justice Bennett from Saugus Girls Basketball. Justice has a 3.5 GPA and scored 1650 on the SAT. For Justice, the grades you get in school shows who you are as a person.
“It reflects your work ethic,” Justice said. “Obviously it’s your education too, but grades reflect your work ethic and colleges look at that and in order to get into a good college your grades have to be somewhat good. So yeah, it’s just a work ethic thing for me and it shows how committed you are for your future.”
Cal State Monterrey Bay, University of La Verne, Cal State-Fullerton and Fresno State are among the schools she is interested. But it’s Pacific University in Oregon she is most interested in.
“It’s beautiful,” she said. “I’m from the midwest, it’s country, I mean it’s nice. It’s woods. It’s what I love. It’s outdoors. It’s my favorite.”

Ultimately she wants to study kinesiology to achieve her career dream… becoming a physicians assistant.
“Down the line I want to be working with athletes and be around them because I love athletes,” she said. “They’re just great people. Their work ethic is awesome and they just strive for the best.
When Justice was asked who motivated her the most growing up to do well in school, she started to answer before the question was finished.
“My mom,” she said. “She’s the rule enforcer. In order to have anything you wanted you had to have good grades. You don’t bring a C home to my mom. She was not about that C. No. You had to have good grades.”
Congratulations to Justice Bennett of Saugus High School, the Wendy’s of Santa Clarita Student Athlete of the Week.
