The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and MRCA will host a two-hour “early morning bird hike” on Saturday, Aug. 20.
Hikers should plan to assemble at 8 a.m. at Ed Davis Park in Towsley Canyon, 24255 The Old Road south of Calgrove Boulevard.
“We think of summer as being an easy time of year for animals,” MRCA officials said. “But for our local bird residents, this is pretty challenging with soaring heat, little water, and vegetation displaying all the signs of stress. Join us to see who the tough ones are.”
Beginners are welcome. Be sure to bring plenty of water. Binoculars are optional. A $7 parking fee applies. No dogs allowed.
